Our aim here at Cake Diane in Preston is to share our skills and knowledge of Sugarcraft and cake decorating. You would receive expert tuition. We provide a friendly welcoming atmosphere and want you to get the most out of your day. It will be an enjoyable, educational and rewarding experience.
Here at Cake Diane we offer a unique workshop programme will cover all aspects of cake decorating work. From our Sugarcraft classes you can learn how to ice cake’s successfully. Our workshop categories focus on: Cakes, Cupcakes, Cake Jewellery and Cake Toppers.
Our classes are suitable for beginners through to an advanced sugarcrafter, there is sure to be a cake course to suit you!

BASIC MODELLING – Sat 26th May 2012 10am to 4pm
Fee £35
This course is aimed at the beginner.
You will produce three models using different mediums (sugarpaste, modelling paste & marzipan). You will cover proportions and dressing simple figures suitable for use on celebration cakes.
The course fee will include all materials but you will need the following equipment:
- Apron
- Dishcloth
- Tea towel
- Small rolling pin
- Non-stick board
- Modeling tools
- Small sharp knife
- Paint brush
- Edible glue
- All students will be responsible for keeping their work area clean
BASIC SUGARCRAFT – Sat 9th June 2012 10am to 4pm
Fee £45
This course is ideal for the beginner or students who are wanting to refresh/revise their basic skills.
The course will include the covering of a cake dummy, learning and developing crimping, texturing, embossing, Garrett frills, a simple inscription and the use of ribbon and simple blossoms.
The course fee includes all materials but you will need the following equipment:
- Apron
- Dishcloth
- Tea towel
- Non-stick board (optional)
- Standard Rolling Pin
- Small Rolling Pin
- Pastry brush
- Garrett Frill Cutter
- Paint brush
- Edible Glue
- Icing Sugar Dredger

CUPCAKES – 19th May 2012 10.30am to 2.30pm
Fee: £25
You will decorate 6 cupcakes with different techniques.
Cost: £26 to include tuition and some sundries but you will also need:

Lilly and Rose Course – This is a 5 week course to be held on Tuesday 24th April and 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd May 2012 - 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The classes will take place at Oyston Mill.
You will make, finish and assemble a spray of Lilys, roses and foliage. Cost: £75 to include tuition and all materials (including the lily cutter & veiner) but you will also need:
- Dishcloth, tea towel and apron
- Notepad and pen
- Small rolling board
- Small rolling pin
- Paint Brush
- Edible Glue
- Small Scissors
- Small wire cutters
- Dog bone tool
- Foam pad
- Small craft knife
- Small palette knife

- Calyx cutter (medium) [a medium star cutter can be used]
- Rose leaf cutters or Set of simple leaf cutters
